Brief 30 minute, conversation phone interview. Followed by an invitation to do a Sample Teach. The Sample Teach involved creating a 10 minute lesson (prompt from them), teaching that lesson, hearing feedback from the GA team, and then re-teaching a portion of it for 5 minutes taking into account their feedback. There were no trick questions or gimmicks, it was a genuine attempt to provide honest feedback that would help you improve.
Overall, the breadth of the lesson topic was large enough that confining it to only 10 minutes proved challenging. While putting the lesson together itself shouldn't take too long for a subject matter expert, trying to streamline to fit the time commitment can be more challenging.
