The process included 3, 30 minute interviews—one with the direct report, potential team members and final round being upper management. The process was overall easy, except the interviews themselves seemed rushed—as if the team were too busy with their own work to do a proper interview. There was a lot of emphasis on “working without direction” and managing tasks without a-lot of guidance, which was further reiterated by how busy everyone interviewing you seemed. When an potential employer says you’ll hear within a week, I expect to hear back within that set amount, regardless if there’s an offer or not extended. Being ghosted is highly unprofessional—though seems to be the norm these days, and it’s disappointing that this organization doesn’t value candidates’ time. It’s even more disappointing that the ideas you bring forth in conversations are then taken and implemented after being ghosted. I know ideas can’t be copyrighted but it’s still insulting to see something you suggest be implemented and the organization not taking the time to reach out to say “Sorry, we’ve filled the role.”
