I applied through college or university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Flint, MI) in Mar 2016

      Interview

College graduate program. Easy interview. Had two interviews in one day, met with recruiter/project lead, and a current tech employee. Lots of behavioral questions, and a few technical ones. Learned a lot about the company

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Warren, MI) in Aug 2016

      Interview

I was applying online on GM's internal posting site as I was already an employee. I heard from my (now) boss about scheduling a phone interview with a lateral manager. The manager asked me about some situations I'd been in at work and how I'd handled things. It was a very relaxed conversation. They mostly just want your honesty and see how you react to difficult situations. About a week later I was contacted to go interview with my current boss. He asked more behavioral questions and a few things about my knowledge of the role I was applying to. Then I spoke with my director and she asked more behavioral questions. These interviews are not hard so long as you prepare a few things to say regarding situations you've been through in the workplace.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Detroit, MI) in Apr 2016

      Interview

I was referred by someone in the company, and within a week of that I was given an initial phone screen. The person who called me gave me more information about the position and immediately set up an in-person interview. They were very accommodating on time and location. A few weeks later, I had the in-person interview with the person I spoke with on the phone and one of her colleagues. The interview itself was very relaxed and the interviewers were very friendly. I was told that I would hear back from them within a week, but it took probably about a month to hear anything.
