Met the Associate Director for Undergraduate Career Management at the GWSB Career Center through personal contacts. Set up a meeting to discuss my experiences and interest in the position. After our meeting, called me in for a formal interview with her, the Associate Director for Graduate Career Management, and the Executive Director. I had to give a 10 minute presentation on a job search topic of my choice and answer questions about my experience, strategies to work with undecided students, what has worked well and not well in past career centers in which I have worked, and views on the recession and how to help students find jobs during a difficult market. Everyone was very friendly, eager to answer my questions, and open about the strengths and challenges of the career center.
