After my application, I got contacted in about a week for a phone interview. It lasted about 25 minutes with a very kind interviewer who would be my supervisor. I thought I did very well, she was engaged and seemed impressed with my interest in the position. I felt great about it! I sent her a thank you email as I waited to hear back about the next steps. When a week went by without a response, I emailed the secretary who had set up our email. No response. A month went by without a reply to my inquiries and I just received an automated email about their decision, telling me that they chose to go with another candidate. Although I assumed I did not get the position, I wish they hadn't left me hanging!
