Interview
In March 2024, I had my first online interview for the role. Over the next 3 months, I had a total of 5 interviews, including one face-to-face in Berlin and another in Brussels. I was even invited to their Brussels Forum as a strong candidate. After the 5th interview, I was suddenly ghosted for weeks by the Hiring Manager, even though HR had assured me that I would hear from them very soon for another interview (!) However, the hiring manager suddenly cut off all the communication. After several emails in one month, I finally received an apology email from her informing me that they would not be moving forward with me but she offered me a talk to clarify things. However, after accepting this offer, I was ghosted again with no response so far.
I believe there may be some internal tensions between the European and US offices that have resulted in unclear and ambivalent communication with candidates like myself. There may have been some individual incompetence. The hiring process was never clear and transparent, with confusing elements such as conflicting information about the job description, missed interviews, sudden requests, and wrong information about the next steps. The entire experience was dehumanizing and unprofessional. I hope these issues can be addressed to prevent similar experiences in the future.
