Earlier this week I had an interesting situation, where I was contacted by a recruiter who found me on Indeed. I was provided a brief job description and then punted to another recruiter to contact to discuss further “if I was interested”. Contacted 2nd recruiter who explained the initial interview would be conducted online. I asked if “online” would be a 1-way interview where I would answer role related questions while speaking to the camera (as though it was a person), which I’ve had to do a few times before. He just kept stating “online” and FINALLY got to the [true] answer that it would be via email. (huh?) He then asked me if I’m ready to proceed, which I stated yes…multiple times. FINALLY, he sent me the questions and I provided my responses that same day. He responded “Impressive. Well, you have done absolutely wonderful so far and we have come to an end for both Job Briefing and Interview. At this point, I will forward all our conversations to the Head Human Resources Department for their review and Consideration” and was further instructed to report online @ 8am the next day for further instructions. The following day, I reported online as instructed and had received an email stating Congratulations On Your New Employment With Us! Then received a subsequent email with the offer letter and more instructions. I replied back with some additional questions that I wanted answers to before moving forward. I have yet to hear back from him…or anyone else for that matter, and it’s been days! I have NOT signed the letter, nor do I intend to until I hear back from someone. My gut is telling me that this is a little hinky (to say the least). Before submitting my interview answers I had researched the company including its website, company and CEO reviews, and it appeared [somewhat?] legit – but something just isn’t sitting right, so I’m moving on.
