Question 1
What is it about GitLab that made you want to apply to work here?
The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at GitLab (Miami, FL) in Apr 2022
Interview
I have a detail conversation with the recruiter, we spoke in depth about my experience and the expectations for the position. We also discussed how Gitlab writes a response to every candidate not selected. I followed up a week later. Never heard back, never got an email with reasons why I wasn’t selected. Considering it’s in their extremely detailed handbook to provide these responses, it seems a bit unprofessional not to provide one.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at GitLab (London, England) in Oct 2020
Interview
I was contacted by a GitLab in house recruiter on LinkedIn. After expressing interest in the role, I was asked to send over a copy of my CV.
I had 6 interviews, all conducted remotely via Zoom, as follows:
1. Initial screening with recruiter
2. Hiring manager interview
3. Peer interview with another member of the legal team
4. Peer interview with another member of the legal team
5. Stakeholder interview with a member of the security team
6. Interview with the Chief Legal Officer
Shortly after my final interview and completion of reference checks, I was extended a verbal offer over Zoom.
