I applied online. I interviewed at GitLab in Oct 2021
Interview
Overall disappointing process as I got ghosted by the recruiter who handled my screening. I applied to the role and the very same day got an email from the recruiter about scheduling a call for it. The call took place 3 days later on 10/19, and I thought it went fairly well. The recruiter then outlined next steps and said I would be hearing back shortly. That would be the last message I would ever receive. I sent a message on 10/28 just asking to follow up and thanking them for their time, and as of 11/8 never got a response to that either. I emailed the recruiter today and told them I wanted to withdraw my name either way as it was clear they did not practice the very detailed hiring guide they have listed on their own website, much less respect candidates time and effort. It's unfortunate because everything points to this being a good company to work for, but if they cannot hold themselves accountable to their own hiring practices, what other promises do they make that they cannot keep?
