There were 7 interviews in total. Screening by HR, 1 phone interview with someone from the hiring team and then 5 in person interviews (done the same day) on site by members of the department. They were all very nice and it felt more like a conversation than an interview, which was great. Only 2 persons were somewhat stand-offish but they were also higher up in the company, so I assume they were just more business-orientated as opposed to being a people-person. My only problem with them was the HUGE lack of diversity in the company; it's hard to imagine a company in New York being this non-diverse. Definitely the only company I've ever interviewed for that seriously made me wonder why it lacked diversity THIS much. I spoke to someone who previously interviewed and he had the same problem. I hope they address this because I know they're relatively new and they have a lot to offer, but I think they need to look at their hiring practices because it's hard to imagine they aren't getting qualified diverse applicants- they just seem to choose the same people. It may not be intentional, but not a good look for the company. Otherwise, no other complaints.
