My initial communications with the company started with an email to set up a time and date for a phone screen which was very standard. The HR rep confirmed a time and date with me and I confirmed. On the scheduled day I blocked a time from my work day in order to find a private place away from my office in order to take the call. I waited 5 minutes and another 5 minutes. I debated waiting longer but figured after 10 minutes the person most likely forgot or got caught up in something very important. I sent an email reminding this person of the missed appointment in order to give them a chance to explain and suggested we reschedule to give the person the benefit of the doubt.
After all the hoopla, the person had me on the phone for approximately 10 minutes. I was asked what my salary range was and I explained it was flexible and I would be willing to negotiate. They persisted in asking and got me to answer a pay range. I received an email the next day thanking me for my time but they didn't think I fit the position. They didn't even give me to the courtesy to discuss my skill set and why I might be a good fit for the position. The HR rep left a very negative impression on me.
