I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GlobalFoundries (Malta, NY) in Mar 2012
Interview
My process started at the university career fair in 2010. I approached the table for Global and they had a hiring manager teamed up with a new college grad. The guys were very amicable and sold the company quite well. I had to fill out an online application and then I was contacted by another hiring manager. The phone interview was very relaxed and composed mostly of questions about how I work on a team and how I feel about living in New York. I stopped the process to accept another offer. Then, after I decided I wanted to leave the first company I worked for, I contacted this same hiring manager and he got back to me the same day. Within two days I had arranged to be flown up to NY for the in-person interview. The on-site was also not difficult. There was a presentation by Global about the company's place in the semiconductor industry. This was followed by two management interviews, one technical interview and one HR interview. All of the interviewers asked me questions about topics that pertained to my resume. I believe they were just verifying that I actually did everything I claimed to have done. They understood that I was fairly new to fabrication and the interview reflected this. The entire process was highly professional. I received an offer the next week and accepted it.

First, TA will call for initial suitability check. And if he/she feel satisfied with your background and suitability, then he/she will come back with schedule for interview with hiring manager. Sometimes interviews can be two technical interview with hiring manager and HOD.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at GlobalFoundries (Malta, NY) in Oct 2022
Interview
Interview process was easy, but getting a start date was a cluster. Initially accepted, but declined when they froze hiring and when my start date was moved twice. I lost faith in their process after that.
