The interview questions were pretty standard and the process was not out of the ordinary. I wouldn't typically leave a negative review for an interview (even when I didn't get the position) but something struck me about the way one of the interviewers spoke to me that seemed like gender discrimination, so I wanted to mention it here. He said that it seemed like I "may not be able to handle difficult personality types" despite my mention of how I'd successfully dealt with conflict in various high level situations at my current company, and he told me "not to be scared" about speaking with the VP in my next interview. This was offputting to me. I'm not a particularly shy or nervous person, so I can only assume he was indicating that I was meek or "scared" of speaking with someone high-level based on my gender. Rest assured, this review isnt my reaction to not being hired (I'm now in a position at a different company that I'm very happy with), it's my reaction to feeling angry about what I viewed as discriminatory hiring practices. You wouldn't tell another man "you'll be talking to our VP next, but don't be scared."
