I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (Munich, Bavaria) in Oct 2019
Interview
Everyone gets 2 rounds of interviews, each round with 2 interviewers. Situational questions and questions about yourself / your resume.
If you make it past the 2 rounds, you get to the last interview with 1 person who will be your team leader/head if you were to get into the company. It seems to me this interviewer will decide if you suit his team or which role you’re suited for and be the one who decides if you get the position or not. My interview for this round was slightly rushed so I could tell the interviewer’s main purpose was to find out my motivations for wanting to join the company and division and whether or not I would be a good fit for the position.
For all 3 interviews, interviewers seemed to have a script of situational and typical interview questions to ask but were also allowed to freely ask questions they think would help them in getting to understand or know you and your resume better.
Lead the interviewers in the right direction and treat it like a normal comfortable conversation. If you feel like you haven’t had the chance to showcase your strengths or motivations, lead the interview in that direction such that you can showcase your strengths. A lot of my situational questions were based on what I said. One interviewer also asked me an IQ question because he/she wanted to hear my thought process and test my analytical skills.

The process was well‑organized, with clear instructions and smooth transitions between meetings. Questions centered on teamwork, ownership, process improvement, and how my past experiences prepared me for Operations. Overall, it felt structured, conversational, and professionally run.
