Their recruiter reached out to me via email. I read the JD which I found mediocre. Nonetheless, I was open to exploring it. The JD mentioned GEO which is not an officially accepted term in the SEO industry. It's became apparent that no one at GoodWay has deep experience or understanding of organic search or LLMs for that matter.
The conversation was cordial but red flags started to emerge as I focused in on some on the choice of words used. On the topic of salary, she deflected and never answered.
The recruiter then requested a resume over the weekend. Red Flag 2. I did not comply with this request. It then occurred to me that the C-suite gave her a deadline.
The role was then put on hold. Classic move for a role in research mode...
Bottomline: The company should not be using candidates to do market research for a role that isn't approved. There's plenty of resources for this. Their recruiting is not exactly the gold standard.
