I applied and got a call from the recruiter. After the screening, she asked me to submit the writing exercises. I submitted them and waited for the feedback. Recruiter informed me that the reviewing committee at Google liked my documents and the feedback is positive. She mentioned that she is forwarding my resume and feedback to the Hiring Managers of different teams and she will get back to me. But, since then, every time I ask for an update, she tells me that she hasn't heard back from any hiring managers. I have waited for more than 2 months and still, there is no clear answer.
It would have been great if I had known it earlier that even after clearing the writing test, there is no clarification towards moving on to the next step.
When I applied for this role, under the Preferred qualifications, it was mentioned: 4 years of relevant work experience, including experience researching and writing excellent documentation for developers (APIs, SDKs, web technologies).
Now, the recruiter is telling me that currently, Google is looking to hire technical writers with 10-15 years of experience. She never mentioned it during sending me the writing tests or asking me for my writing samples. If the requirement is of 10-15 years of experience then, certainly I cannot qualify as I have 7 years of experience as a Technical Writer.
So, all this has become a little ambiguous. I am not able to understand the process here.
