Interview
The interview process at Great Minds was well-structured and took about a month from my first interview to the final decision. It started with a 30-minute conversation with the recruiter, Evan, who was incredibly professional and communicative. A few days later, I had a 30-minute interview with the hiring manager, followed by an interview with a scientist shortly after. The final stage was a panel interview with two team members. Since I was one of the first candidates they interviewed, it took about two weeks for them to make a decision after my final interview.
Even though I didn’t receive an offer, I genuinely appreciated the experience. Evan was exceptional throughout the entire process—he kept me updated every week, provided clear timelines, and ensured I knew when to expect a final decision. His transparency and kindness made the experience positive, and I left with a great impression of the company.

Question 1
Which project management methodologies have you used, and which do you prefer?
I applied online. I interviewed at Great Minds in Oct 2024
Interview
Went through four rounds (recruiter, manager, peer, panel w/work product presentation). First three were fine and enjoyable conversations. The work assignment was reasonable.
But to ghost someone after they made it to the final round is inexcusable. There were significant delays (they were still interviewing folks a full month later). I just saw the job reposted on LinkedIn.
While I am fine not being selected for the role, the lack of information and organization is not a good look for the org. Of course, if you look at their other Glassdoor reviews, it doesn't seem like this is the only problem.

Question 1
What is it about knowledge building that appeals to you?
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Great Minds (Richmond, VA) in Jan 2024
Interview
The interview process was a bit different than the normal and one I'd say that is not helpful. You have an initial screener interview with HR. Then they pass you over to another HR group for a second screener. If you make it past those two rounds and the hiring manager or team has interest, they will then give you a task to complete. Keep in mind that the screener interviews are not necessarily job-specific and as a potential candidate, don't allow you to really ask detailed questions about the job. The task is very impersonal and one anyone could complete which would make it very challenging to assess anyone's ability other than putting text in a presentation. The best part was that I received no feedback as to why I was not invited to continue in the interview process. Very cold and impersonal. Not the best way to conduct interviews.
