Applied online. Got contacted by a HR person. Moved onto the next round with a Principal Data Scientist. And Technical Interview with another Sr Data Scientist.
1st round with HR: The HR person was late for the call. Did not pay much attention to me and my answers. Did not provide much information about the job as well the company. They probably did not know what they're looking for. Small redflag.
2nd interview with the Principal DS: He's pretty professional and provided good information about the company. He sounded like he's really interested in me and my background and would love to have me onboard. He told me there would be no technical questions in this round so I could relax. Then in the end of the interview, he asked me a bunch of technical questions out of nowhere. It's not a big deal but seems like he lied in the beginning so this is something that made me uncomfortable. Small redflag again. He also promised me there would be no politics working at this company which I am sure was a completely lie.
3rd round with another DS: He has a list of questions to read from and he still had a hard time reading it and communicating. I dont know how well he does his job but this person absolutely does not have communication skills and common sense. He kept asking me questions about things I said I did not have much knowledge. He totally did not care about my answers or asked any follow up questions. The list of questions he had was also ridiculous. A lot of random questions about python and machine learning models. Very random and I dont know who would have the answer for all of them on the spot.
I have read about people who intentionally asked tough questions to reject candidates and save the spots for their friends and family. I hope this is not the case but honestly I lost my interest in working for this company after the technical interview with this person.
