Groupon Big Data Engineer interview questions

I applied online and recruiter made an Initial screening call. I was asked basics in databases and I was moved to the next round. The scheduling and the process are fast because they recruiters give their available schedule to us. I liked this very much because it expedites the process when compared to the conventional email exchanges for scheduling The second round is more technical. A little about my background and then he jumped into writing queries for the database problems.You have to be good in HIVE to solve these. The queries are finding weekly averages etc I was able to solve them but for one of the problem I explained the process but I didn't write the exact query. I was called for onsite and it is back to back interviews with various engineers and different teams. They see your thought process and a lot of whiteboard exercises. I believe I did well here but one of the interviewers is not happy with the machine learning experience I had. He's rude and I didn't like it at all. In the interview, he kept quiet instead of knowing more about my background. Overall the interview process was good except those few instances.
