I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Groupon in Aug 2019
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me and had the standard intro call. Gathered many details about my experience (years working with tools, languages, etc...). Moved to the next step, a video phone screen with live shared coding. The coding question was easy and I had the right approach but was not selected to move forward. The next step was an on-site with 4-5 technical interviews (seems a little much - why I'm marking the interview process as "Difficult").
The recruiter was super nice, sent over preparation material and articles that were really helpful. Very easy to work with and she was so friendly. Very positive experience working with her.
The interviewer stayed mostly silent and was constantly highlighting all my code and copying & pasting it somewhere else I presume, it made an annoying camera snap noise each time. Somewhat negative experience here but the interviewer was smart and answered my questions really well. They did provide constructive feedback after the interview but it boiled down to "you haven't memorized this coding problem from Leetcode and can't write perfect code in 30 minutes" so not much to "construct" on.
There were two interview rounds in total:
Technical Round: Focused on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), along with some general technical questions.
HR + Technical Round: Included HR discussions, a few technical questions, and also one DSA problem.
