I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Grubhub (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2017
Interview
First step was a 15 Minute Phone Screen. The in person interview tha lasted about an hour with two interviewers asking questions and answering questions. More casual interview experience, I was made to feel comfortable.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Grubhub (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2024
Interview
First interview was an easy 20 minute phone screening. The 2nd interview was a joke. I was supposed to be interviewed by two people. One of them was training 2 other people so I unexpectedly had 4 people staring at me from the start. The woman that interviewed me seemed like she couldn't get out of there fast enough. I was more than qualified for this entry level position and ended up not getting the job offer. They most likely had an interview quota to hit so that was a waste of time. The one guy was really cool but the woman kept grilling me on my purpose in life which I had to answer several times. During the role play I was told to do a one call close. I handled every objection perfectly and brought value each time. I was told that I was supposed to set a call back time which was obvious if it was a live call. This interview is why Grubhub is falling far behind Uber Eats and DoorDash. These people can't even hire the right candidates for basic entry level Sales positions. Their loss.

Question 1
What if Grubhub doesn't fulfill your purpose in life?
Don't waste your time. They send a long list of instructions about the interview because you don't want to waste the manager's time. How about my time. 3 Zoom interviews scheduled and they never show up for one. I will be sure to spread the word with the restaurant owners I know. Nothing like free publicity.

Interview
Super friendly people, talked super fast though in the phone screening it was a lot to take in, I had a lot of questions after. Slightly intimidating the second round questions are more behavioral personality creative base.
