There were 3 to 4 rounds. Fairly straightforward process. Normal questions for industry and role with the exception of one interviewer who asked questions seemingly at random . Overall it was a pretty neutral experience
I applied online. I interviewed at Grubhub (New York, NY) in Feb 2021
Interview
They have 4 rounds -
1 HR screening
HR will ask about your experience and why you're interested in role
2. 1st round with director
resume + behavioral
3. Technical round
SQL - 2 questions both easy level leetcode + domain related + few behavioral questions
4. virtual onsite ( 4 rounds)
This is where it gets tricky because HR is clueless and cannot guide specifically in terms of preparation.
they need people who are good with tagging and analytics, Since I didn't have much tagging experience they rejected me which I believe can be learnt on job.
the virtual onsite
with business analyst: asked about A/B testing
with Data warehousing lead - asked to design data warehouse for uber system
other 2 interviews where 7 - 8 use cases on grub hub website - they opened the website and asked to calculate kpis
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
design data ware house for uber system
do you have tagging experience
grubhub specific case study
explain etl for a flat file - 3 columns (price, name, id)
the questions are very open ended and the recruiters were not judging based on thought process but on exact answers
