The interview process itself went smoothly. I first had a phone screen with the recruiter, who was very amicable and easy to talk to. Next, I had a phone interview with the VP of Marketing, which was more technical and focused on more specific situations and how I would have handled those particular scenarios. I then moved on to an onsite interview with two leads of the Sales Development team, and those were very enjoyable because they were very balanced - we talked about the position but also realized that we had common interests outside of work and discussed those as well. I came back a second time to interview with the CEO of the company, and that too was pleasant, albeit much shorter than the previous onsite interview. Finally, I ended with a second phone interview with the VP of Marketing, who asked me when I would be available to work and told me that I should know if I got an offer or not within the week. I honestly thought I would be offered a position based on the feedback and how the interviews went, but unfortunately they decided to go in a different direction with different candidates. I was somewhat frustrated that the reason was apparently because I was too young for the position, but I understand that's how it works sometimes. I still maintain a friendly relationship with the recruiter, and I had no complaints with how the interview process itself was executed. It was challenging at times, but in a good way, as I feel like I was able to build better rapport with the interviewers because the questions weren't generic at all.
