Interview process was long and drawn out. Multiple calls and face-to-face meetings with different levels of HR and management. The final interview was one-on-one with the owner, Alan Jay Kaufman.
After those multiple calls and in-person interviews, I was scheduled for a 4:30 PM final interview with Alan. I left work early to make sure to be there in plenty of time. Alan, busy man that he is, ran late by 45 minutes. I cooled my heels in a conference room waiting for my audience with him.
I do mean "audience": The conversation was one-sided. This was not a question and answer between me and the owner, but rather 20 or so minutes of me listening to Alan describe the company and the kind of worker he expects to hire (He only hires "A players" with drive and grit). He did nit-pick my resume as well, but never gave me the opportunity to respond to his comments. We closed the interview with what I learned to be Alan's standard requirement for all new-hires at HQ: "Write me a letter explaining why I should hire you."
