I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at H&M (Melbourne) in Sep 2018
Interview
I applied online, and then got contacted via email to join a group interview. The interview lasted maybe around 2 hours, and you were basically contacted later on to whether or not you got the job.
The group interview firstly got you to wear coloured sachets, so the employers can recognise you, and then you were briefed on the company values and information for the position. Later you would have a customer-related scenario in which you discussed in your group on how to deal/act in that scenario. After that activity, everyone was then told to merchandise clothing either on the hanger or on the table (all the clothes were in buckets) whilst other people in your group pretended to be customers and ask you questions (general customer inquires such as: "what is your return policy?" "do you have this size in the back?"). Its a bit hectic due to the amount of people trying to frantically put clothes on the table and on hangers, but if you work together and answer the questions well, you'll stand out.
group interview, people were friendly and they asked a lot of general questions. then we all went to the shop floor, got assigned a certain outfit to make for a hypothetical customer and explained in front of the group why we chose it
I applied online, interview at the store. Casual talk with the store manager about the experiences and how the store works. It was pretty straight forward even without any experiences.
Group interview. 10 candidates in a small dingy room. Poorly organised and interviewers showed very little interest or skill in conducting an effective interview. Were in pairs for the whole thing, no way to stand out and other people taking credit for your ideas. No observation of how you handled planning and answering the tasks in your pairs, interviewers just sat there having a chat.
