I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at H&M in Apr 2021
Interview
I applied online through indeed which then took me to a separate portal to complete my application through but was easy enough to navigate.
I got an email back arranging a phone interview within about a week from the application. The phone interview was simple enough, just general questions about your age and asking things about my CV and how I would handle different types of customers. I heard back within a few days that I was invited to an in-store group interview which again was pretty easy. They discussed the company values and asked for examples of how we resonate with the values. We then did some role play scenarios where we were given a piece of paper with customer information and what they were looking for and we’d have to ask questions to understand the customer more to be able to pick out an outfit for them. After that we had some basic scenarios as a group to answer together and then let the manager know of our availability and any upcoming holidays. I got a phone call 2 days later with a job offer which I happily accepted.

How do you identify yourself with the company values?
Give me an example of a time you worked as a team?
Why do you want to work for H&M
group interview, people were friendly and they asked a lot of general questions. then we all went to the shop floor, got assigned a certain outfit to make for a hypothetical customer and explained in front of the group why we chose it
I applied online, interview at the store. Casual talk with the store manager about the experiences and how the store works. It was pretty straight forward even without any experiences.
Group interview. 10 candidates in a small dingy room. Poorly organised and interviewers showed very little interest or skill in conducting an effective interview. Were in pairs for the whole thing, no way to stand out and other people taking credit for your ideas. No observation of how you handled planning and answering the tasks in your pairs, interviewers just sat there having a chat.
