I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at H1 in Jan 2019
Interview
I had a 30 minute phone discussion with their CTO. It sounded like the company is flexible in roles they are hiring for and are looking to bring on good talent. It was never made clear to me if this was a Director or Individual Contributor role. I was asked if I would be ok with 25% of my time dedicated to coding and 75% to managing. The conversation went well enough that I was willing to do a takehome "coding challenge". I was given 72 hours to complete some data analyses and programming puzzle.
The data analyses was very boring and repetitive. They give you messy data and want you to standardize and pull some aggregates from it.
The coding challenge involved finding the shortest path to complete a given set of instructions.
I received a generic one line message in response to my submission. I asked for something more detailed but was never given anything useful. My solution worked, was properly documented, and explained where improvements could be made if it were to be productionalized.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at H1 (New York, NY) in Feb 2022
Interview
- Recruiter insisted scheduling outside of 9-5
- They talked very fast, and asked me about language proficiency (it was clear on my resume)
- They said they need to check with hiring manager
- After meeting received email asking for resume (which they already said they had) and message was 'Dear <Recruiter's Name>' instead of mine
- 5 days later receive rejection email for a position other than the one I applied for
Overall, extremely disorganized experience.
