After applying online, received immediate invitation to go to Chicago office to complete a writing sample. Was given multiple packets of information and 2-3 hours to complete the sample. Short interview with human resources person afterwards. The sample was for a medical researcher and the goal was to describe the merits of the research. Both a technical and non-technical description were given. Although the job description said one does not have to have a scientific background or foreknowledge, not having it made writing the sample with enough detail quite difficult. Did not feel confident writing it because I was not sure if I was describing the research correctly, even with the non-technical section. Finally heard back after 2 weeks and was told although my sample was well-written, it did not sufficiently describe the client's research.
