HKS Senior Writer interview questions

It seemed very promising at first. HKS reached out through email about a week after I applied to arrange a phone interview for the following week. We had a lovely chat that lasted about 30 minutes, where I went over my experience and job history and we discussed what the newly created position would entail. The interviewer (who was based in another city) seemed excited to move forward and said she was interviewing a few other people by phone that week, but then would be in touch to arrange for an in-person interview the next week when she was in town. She asked for samples, which I immediately sent along with a thank-you email. She said they were looking to move fast and have someone hired within the next 3 weeks or so, and asked if I had anything that would get in the way of that timeline. I never heard from her again, and she didn't reply to either of my two follow-up emails. They completely ghosted me.
