interviewed on the phone with human resource person. Then had a phone interview with hiring manager. Then spoke to several people in the department. Then had lunch with hiring manager. Then spoke with human resource representative. Then received a phone call that confirmed offer via email.

Doesn't explain why they rejected, interviewer sounds dismissive. When asked for reason, they did not get back nor explain the reason for rejection. I think it is important to have common courtesy
