I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Hallmark Aviation Services (Newark, NJ) in Dec 2017
Interview
They called me to set up a face to face interview at Newark Airport, we set up a day and time and they told me to go to terminal B and wait by the dunkin donuts , gave me a phone number to contact the interviewer in case I have difficulties finding the place. The day of the interview got to the terminal B 1 hour before my interview time and there is very small self serving dunking donuts by the door, I called the interviewer and she told me I was at the right place and Someone will come over and take me to the office 5 minuets before my interview time. My interview was at 2pm, and by 2:15 I was still waiting for someone to come over and start my interview, around 2:20 I called the number and nobody pick the phone up, around 2:40pm I tried to call again and nobody answer the phone again. I noticed 2 other girls waiting and trying to call so I asked them if they were there for the interview, they say yes but nobody is picking up the phones... so around 3 pm (an hour after our interview time) one employee of other company helped us find the Hallmark offices and got us in contact with one Girl who works for Hallmark, the girl helped us find the interviewer who by the way didn’t pick up her phone for and hour and a half.... after all that 4 other and I got into the interview..... and hour and a half late
... Very frustrating ! I honestly didn’t leave because it takes a long time and effort to get to the airport and it didn’t seem right to me. They never apologized for making us wait or anything like that. I would say do not waste your time with these people, maybe they are better at it in other cities but this one is definitely a waste... and if you are seeking a job at the airport because you want the travel benefits this company is not a good fit for you either because they are subcontractors of different airlines so you technically never work for the specific airlines, you just represent them at the counter but that is it. I wish I have done more research on them before I wasted a full day with these disrespectful people Newark.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
It was a huge test, it has questions about time zones, different situations and how you will act on those, past job experiences, a reading and comprehension test, different math questions, spelling check questions (you cannot use your calculator for the test or your phone at all) they give you 45 minutes to complete it. I finished it in about 40 minutes. The max score is 100 And you have to wait for the results, if your score is over 80 you will be called for a face to face interview with tha lady who didn’t picked up the phone... my score was 97 and I did the face to face interview, where she ask about my last jobs, and why I wanted to work at the airport and that was it. I asked her if the company offered travel benefits and she look like she didn’t know what to say and then she said yes with south west airlines, but I looked the company up in glass door after the interview and a lot of people said that they don’t really offer any travel benefits and they got all kinds of bad reviews. I wish I have done my research before going and wasting my time with them.
First, there was an initial phone call that served as a preliminary screening to discuss my background, experience, and interest in the role. After that, I was invited to an in-person interview with a member of the HR team, where we talked in more detail about my qualifications, work history, and how I might fit within the company’s culture. The final step in the process was another interview with a manager from the airline, which focused more on the responsibilities of the position, my ability to handle job-related situations, and how I would contribute to the team.
