I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Hampel Oil Distributors (Wichita, KS) in May 2022
Interview
I was selected for two interviews, both via Zoom. The first interview went very well, was well-structured, and the interviewers were prepared with questions and able to answer mine. The second interview was with the 3rd generation owners of the company. They were both late to the interview, and while one of them talked, the other was not paying any attention at all and very obviously working on something else on their computer. This was a new position for the company and you could definitely tell they weren't entirely sure what needed to be done in this position. They went well over the date by which they said they would have a decision and would follow up with candidates, and I had to reach out myself to get the answer that they were moving forward with another candidate. Most likely would have ghosted me if I had not reached out.

Interview
Only had one interview by someone who did not know how to interview. He was friendly but I could tell he wasn’t made to interview for this position. He himself said he didn’t know how to recruit or anything about the hiring process. He knew I wasn’t qualified but still asked me for an interview. It almost felt like I was the Guinea pig, as he admitted this was a brand new position and I was the first person to interview
