      Interview

Submitted my resume, cover letter, and writing sample online (no referral). After a few weeks, got notice to do the IQ test, and then received a phone interview request. Phone interview went very well - recruiter is great. Next step was research paper. I worked very hard on this and just a few hours after submitting it, received a final-round interview request. For the final-round, I was told that I would have two one-on-one interviews, and that I would meet the recruiter on-site as well. However, my first interview was a panel instead. Lots of weird "gotcha" questions during both interviews. The second interviewer described the role in such a terrible way that I decided that there was no way I would accept an offer (working 7 days a week, churning out 25 pg reports in 5 days, no real manager/oversight for junior employees, no collaboration, no sense of impact, salary significantly lower than what I make). My impression was that there is very high turnover in this role so they want people to be prepared. At the end of the interview, the interviewer just pointed me towards the door on the way back to his office, and I left. Felt very haphazard.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you did not have the best interview experience when you came in to meet with the hiring team. We do try to keep to one-on-one interviews for the Research Associate roles but sometimes add a second interviewer to a one-on-one if that manager has a vacancy on his/her team and we do not want to extend the interview time a candidate has committed already or ask them to come back. The intention is never to test candidates with 'gotcha' questions but rather gauge their ability to problem solve in the moment. Our hiring managers are also very honest about the expectations of each role. We would not want anyone misled during the interview process about the day-to-day expectations for each position. Maybe your second interviewer could have spent more time discussing the positives of the role as well as the challenges. We appreciate the feedback.

      Interview

Had to complete a phone interview followed by a test and then a virtual interview with hiring managers. The phone interview was around 20 minutes and the virtual interview was 45 minutes.

      Interview

The first interview was a phone screening with a recruiter. Super fun conversation and chill process. But for students who want to look for jobs starting at summer, they can’t hold a position for too long if you apply on October or so.
