Fairly simple initial interview with store manager. Surprisingly easy questions about work scenarios. Then, you receive a mock client and a Poweripoint template. Complete design on Havertys 2D planner and present to Store Manager, Regional Design Manager and Regional Manager. They ask you questions about the design.

Interview
I received a phone call within a day of submitting my resume. The interview was set that very week. The store had not opened yet and the interview was held in a private area of a nice hotel nearby. I received some forms to complete and asked a variety of questions regarding my experience and qualifications. I also had the opportunity to ask my own questions. The interview went well and ended up lasting over an hour.

Role Play: If you were the designer and your client wanted ___ what would you recommend?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Havertys in Nov 2015
Interview
Created a 2D room plan design for a mock client that I had very little information on. As a current employee I was left in the dark about how the process worked, what was expected of me and what the salary was. I presented my design to the best of my abilities. They proceeded to ask questions about my life, school and children. Management said I wouldn't make $80,000/year like I would if I stuck in sales (which I make nowhere near) I really wanted the stability and Interior Design is my dream. Regional Designer got stuck on the fact I was going to school online and asked a series of questions about online schooling (not my degree). During my presentation she made me feel stupid and like my design ideas made no sense. She said she would never float furniture in a room. It was quite intimidating, something I have never felt as a sales associate with Havertys. Her personality was bland and monotone.
