Unfortunately, I did not have a positive interview experience with Headway. The recruiter reached out to schedule a first round phone screening. She jumped straight to having me walk her through my work experience - did not ask any questions or have any comments relating to my work history and did not give me any background on Headway. While I did my own research and found the company mission to be inspiring, hearing first hand from the recruiter about the company, culture and mission is one of the most crucial aspects of the interview process. The only question I was asked was about my compensation requirements and timeline. I asked a few questions about the core mission, how this role can best support that, and anticipated challenges. I would have liked to receive a more in depth answer here but instead that part of the conversation was cut short by a bare bones response.
The process for the role is an intro call with the recruiter, mine lasted 14 minutes, then the next round is with the CEO if they feel you align. Over the phone, I was told they would review the information and get back to me mid-following week if I was being moved forward. Interviewed on a Friday night and they got back early Sunday informing me that my work and experience did not align and they would not be moving me forward.
My main frustration here is that my work experience fit the posted job description and requirements perfectly. I have worked closely with the recruitment process at my current organization and was surprised and a bit disappointed at Headways approach to recruitment - especially as a company rooted in mental health. On the bright side, it is nice that they follow up quickly rather than ghost candidates. Nonetheless, I hope they find the right candidate for the role!
