Interview
I had my first-round interview on July 15th with the sourcer (not a recruiter) from this company. After building great rapport, she asked me only two questions before the call suddenly dropped. I tried to reconnect by calling, messaging on LinkedIn, and emailing her to address the technical difficulties and reschedule.
However, ten minutes after the call dropped, the sourcer's LinkedIn profile disappeared entirely. I then received an automated rejection email stating I wasn't a fit on July 17th.
It's frustrating to be judged unfit without a full conversation. For a company in the mental health space, this experience was highly unprofessional.
It's clear why other mental healthcare companies like (BetterHelp) are leading the industry in Mental Health.
This company, rather than being called Headway, should perhaps be called "Headunder."
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about the time you suceedeed on a project and how did you achieved it?
Tell me about the time when a project didn't go your way and how did you handled it?
I was initially very excited about this opportunity. The compensation was below industry standard, but given the mission, I was willing to be flexible.
The final interview started off well, with one interviewer who was warm and easy to talk to. However, a second interviewer sitting in was noticeably rude and dismissive for much of the conversation. Toward the end, when I tried to get clarity on a few points, the tone became sarcastic and dismissive rather than collaborative. It felt less like a conversation and more like being tested or caught out, which was enough that I withdrew from the process shortly after.
It also seems like this company overextends its employees, expecting people to take on far more than is reasonable, especially given the below market pay.
The unfortunate truth is that candidates are evaluating a company just as much as the company is evaluating them. This experience made clear that isn’t fully understood internally, and how someone is treated in an interview says a lot about how they’d be treated as an employee.

I was honestly so impressed by this process! Everyone was detail oriented and kind. I also felt like the recruiting team prepared me well. I joined Headway a month ago and it's been such a breath of fresh air so far. I'd recommend!
