I recently interviewed for the Senior Manager of Technical Recruiting role at Headway. After a positive initial conversation with the recruiter, I was asked to complete a take-home project within three days. I dedicated several hours to the project and submitted it on time.
A week later, I received another email from the recruiting coordinator requesting the same project. When I followed up, she confirmed they had received my submission and said I would hear back shortly. It’s now been over two more weeks with no update, despite a follow-up email I sent to the recruiter.
For a company whose mission is to support mental health, this kind of experience in the hiring process feels especially disheartening. A little communication goes a long way particularly when candidates are asked to invest meaningful time and effort.
