They were in dire need of filling my position, so the whole process was pretty streamlined. I met with the department manager phone, the came in a couple days later (I lived out of state) to meet with her again, as well as with my future direct reporting manager. I also had a panel interview with three people from within the department in peer positions. It was obvious that the atmosphere was very casual, people were wearing shorts and flip flops. I was definitely attracted to that. The only negative from my experience was that this panel wasn't very prepared. It was more of a get to know you type of thing, which was fine. It was also pretty apparent that there was a lot of turnover. The people interviewing me had all been there less than a year (except one) and the manager had only been there a couple weeks. The person I was replacing was there for only about a year also. They attributed it to being a growth organization, but still was an obvious issue
