Applied online and was contacted by a recruiter within 2 days to schedule a phone interview. The day before the interview, the recruiter called to ask if I would be available for a second phone interview the same day with the hiring manager. I agreed and scheduled a second call for the following day.
The first call with the recruiter was very brief and somewhat pointless. She read off the job description and asked what my salary requirements were. A few hours later I spoke with the hiring manager who seemed very excited about my background. She mentioned she was actually considering me for two open positions, although one was "further along in the process". This interview was pretty average. Started with a question about my background and then moved on to situational. It was pretty clear the questions were sourced from some website, each starting with "tell me about a time when..". I thought the interview went fairly well. I was asked to send some writing samples and was told what the rest of the interview process would entail (several in person interviews, individual and panel). I was told I would hear back by the end of the day or the following morning.
At this point I was fairly confident I had a good shot at getting an offer. Unfortunately, that is the last I heard from them. I sent a follow up email immediately after the call, including the requested writing samples. I received no response. I sent another follow up three days later. Nothing. I sent one last email two days later. It was clear at this point that I wouldn't be moving forward, but I felt I deserved some sort of reply. I can't imagine what went so horribly wrong that they would not even bother to send a quick email to let me know. I feel this is very unprofessional and frankly disrespectful.
