I went through the initial phone screening and did a 30 minute phone interview. After completing the phone interview the recruiter was supposed to schedule an interview for me with the regional director but never did. I contacted the recruiter and it took 4 days for a response just to find out that position had been filled.

I am very concerned with the unprofessional nature of the interview process. I was uncomfortable having not one, but two interviews at Starbucks. I was asked what my previous and current salary expectations were in a very crowded public place. Immediately upon responding, I was told that was "typically more than we pay." It was both awkward and embarrassing. That information should not be openly discussed in a public place. It should have been done in a more private setting. The most concerning, I applied for a "practice administrator" position and was led to believe that was the position up until the third interview. It was not until I emailed and asked my expectations for the "observe" that I learned it was going to be "answering the phone, checking out patients just normal BA duties." I then reached out to a recruiter in IL and was left with the impression that no one Heartland hires begins as a "practice administrator." With my experience and education, I am not okay being a receptionist. I feel as if this entire experience was a bait and switch and very unprofessional

The official phone interview was a basic interview. The interviewer made the process a very relaxed yet professional experience. I felt he took the time to get to know my character along with my job knowledge. He explained what Heartland expected and was clear on what the pay range was.
