I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Henry M. Jackson Foundation (San Diego, CA)
Interview
It was a very straightforward process: I applied for the position online and was contacted via phone about a month later to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was with multiple people and they took turn asking me questions for about 45 minutes. The next day, I was contacted to set up an in-person interview for the following week. The in-person interview lasted about 2 hours and was very casual--it felt more like a "get to know you" situation to gauge fitness with current staff than an interview.
