Multi-step: Phone meeting with HR before a zoom meeting (~5 hours included multiple individual and team interviews plus a 1 hour presentation). To be perfectly clear, almost everyone I had contact with was extremely kind, passionate, and responsive.
HR phone meeting: Questions were standard including my interest working with HMJ, experience working with military and military families, the specific topic of the research team, education, research experience, and desired salary. The HR reps could not have been nicer if they tried.
The 5+ hour marathon of zoom meetings were completely a mixed bag experience and quite overwhelming given the duration and the various interviewing styles. Specifically, some were easier as they were more conversational style in their questioning of research scenarios and time to expand upon answers and about experience. Other were more difficult since they were rapid fire questions with little time to follow up or for me to ask any questions (I also answered some questions so many times they started to blur together). The presentation was last and I was fried by that point.
Unsurprisingly, I was not offered the job but HR was extremely kind when they contacted me.
