I reached out to the VP of Marketing through LinkedIn and from there, arranged an in-person meeting.
Throughout my 12 years of interviewing for marketing-specific roles, never have I been so turned off by an individual or an organization during an interview process. On several occasions, when describing myself and explaining my background, I was met with rude mannerisms and overall, impolite and unconstructive feedback.
Everyone has different interview styles and shouldn't be controlled or manipulated -- it defeats the purpose of genuinely getting to know the person that might work for you.
The lack of unprofessionalism alone was a clear indicator it wasn't a fit for me.
As for the role itself, it's focused on a sliver or component of marketing. Certainly more of a tactical, entry-level position with very little strategy involved.
