      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Hi-Tech Electro (Irving, TX) in Aug 2020

      Interview

I applied online and received an email from them the same day asking me to call for interview. This went okay, as the guy asked me about mosfets and other components, as they are used in circuits. He asked if I could read schematics and I replied that I can draw schematics, as I have designed and built circuits in the past. He then set up a face to face interview. The questions he asked could have been answered by any electrical engineer, even though this position was for a technician. He wants someone with strong electronics background that can analyze circuits, even if no schematics are available. It didn't appear there would be a training window or learning curve, so if I got the job, I would have to come in and pump out backlogged repairs on a variety of different devices. I felt that I was qualified for this role and conveyed this well enough to get an offer on the spot. He makes an offer that I had to question. He stated this is a 1099 position, no benefits, thirteen bucks an hour, plus ten bucks per piece repaired. He told me to think about it, which I did. Two days later, I called to accept the offer, and he said he would get back to me. Never did, and he's still looking for this golden boy to fill that position to this date.
