Interviewed at the Cherry Hill location. Very professional and very desirable position/location. The Director was a "Straight Shooter" No nonsense. I like an employer/ potential boss that is upfront. Salary was left open by me. I was offered a Higher position in the same dept at a higher salary this was discussed but not made "Official" until a background check was completed and cleared? Qualifications and background checks are two different things. The following week a discussion took place via the phone. The background cleared w/o problems. I was told (Unfortunately) We cannot offer you the salary "previously" suggested at the interview. I Settled on 1,500 less a year. I initially accepted the position "verbally" and was told to contact HR. The HR Dept. is located in North New Jersey. I am in Philadelphia Pa. I was instructed by the gentleman at HR That I would need to drive to Summit N.J. and fill out paperwork and present my original documents "IN PERSON". This is 2018. Summit New Jersey is 100 miles away. Sorry guys two strikes... not waiting on 3 . You're out!
Advice: (1) Make sure you are upfront on the salary for each position and verify it prior to discussing it at all. (2) Get a better system in place to handle your HR business. I know of no one traveling that far to show a Driver license and Social Security card. Sound like someone needs to plan a trip to satellite locations at least one a month to satisfy the "In Person" company HR business.
Good Luck in hiring qualified people with the current status quo.
