      Senior Project Manager Interview

      Jul 8, 2026
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Hilton in Jul 2026

      Interview

ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE. They wanted to do 3 interviews all in person in VA even though the position was hybrid. Not usually deal breaker, especially in this economy however, The second round was going to be with a panel of three and two of them were going to calling virtually because they are on the team but out of state. How insulting would make a candidate take off and dedicate 3 hours of their day on separate weeks because you respect so little of their time. And the third round they wanted a panel case study presentation. Out of my 10 years, I have only had to do one case study presentation during an interview so already a RED FLAG. 1) Interviewed with the recruiter and was told the previous person they met made it to the final round but couldn't put together the execution in a case study presentation. I get to the interview an hour early, she was 5 minutes late to pick me up from the front. Proceeded to show me around the building. Showing m the construction and amenities of the building (no candidate cares about any of that). Then we had to wait, for the conference room. The director was impersonal and cold. She was annoyed that the recruiter provided her with an edited format version of my resume. I had an extra two copies of my resume, she didn't want them. We start with introduce yourself I was little nervous but I did fine there but that's where it all went wrong. She proceeded to ask me if "anyone had explained to me the difference between Procurement and Group Purchasing", nobody had but I had done extensive knowledge on it and had a ton of notes, even right in front me. Therefore, I replied no, but the tone of her explanation was condescension. Again this a senior level position, we should now be discussing how my experience matches or can contribute, nope she asks me the questions below. She also mentioned mid interview, that the title was "Senior Project Manager" but they were looking for a Program Manager. As if the simple questions that she asked me made a difference. Lastly asked me if I had any questions. From beginning to end it lasted 15 minutes. I asked multiple questions to try to engage her. She was ushering me out by 2:38PM we started at 2:10, and ended her side of the questionnaire by 2:26PM. You booked my day from 2PM to 3PM you couldn't be bothered to be involved, even stifled a yawn in the middle of one of my responses. Completely unprofessional beginning to end. She even admitted they didn't have Product Manager, who is driving the vision if you don't have a product manager? But you want to be head of PMO. Not once did she ask me about a project I had done, walk her through it end to end, or any situational questions or behavior questions that relate to their particular organization. It is possible it was my fault for not saying I knew the difference between procurement and group purchasing, however, I was prepared to discuss it on the level a senior level candidate would but she moved right back to her script. Her entire demeanor from beginning to end was scripted. Bit she wanted to mention her favorite part of Hilton is how personable everyone is at the office.
