My first interview was with the recruiter from the outside agency who identified me as a potential candidate. The interview was straightforward and productive, and served mostly as a screening . Then I followed up with an interview with the Founder, which was rather casual and atypical. She did not require me to go through my resume, explain each role, and why I transitioned into the subsequent role. Instead, she told me what she was looking for in a candidate then showed me her existing company website and asked how I would improve it, if at all. I gave candidate feedback and she listened actively. It was a very productive, collaborative, and adequately challenging conversation, and I was able to get a sense of how it would be working with her closely on a daily basis. I really enjoyed this interview approach and it allowed us to get to know each other's communication styles, thought process, and test my knowledge at the moment instead of drawing from previous experiences that may not have been relevant to the role.
