Two stage process: 1. Video Interview with hiring manager and line manager and 2. In-person interview at London office.
The first interview was a very good introduction to the company, the department and team structure and the job content. They were very focussed on understanding where I want to take my career and if my long-term interests align with the scope of the role. It was overall a very pleasant experience, highly professional yet conversational. We ran out of time and did not cover a lot of technical questions. I received an outcome from the recruitment agency an hour later and was invited for a second interview at the London office.
The second interview was a great experience from start to finish. Their office personnel were very professional and everyone was on-time and friendly. There were a lot more in-depth technical questions on troubleshooting and implementing pipelines and IaC for telemetry data which was refreshing compared to the usual "describe SQL joins" and "what Python function would you use". The technical questions lasted about 50 minutes and the remainder of the interview was spent on behavioural situations such as conflict handling and prioritisation. At no point was I unsure about what to expect from the role or the responsibilities.
I received an offer the next morning and accepted without delay. The benefits, salary, travel reimbursement and job description was a perfect fit. The official job offer and contract was sent out by HR more than a week later, but with Easter weekend and the school holidays it's understandable. The onboarding process is somewhat lengthy and traditional but considering the overall positive experience I don't see it in negative light.
I had a great experience!
