I applied online. I interviewed at Holiday Inn Express (Niceville, FL) in Jan 2021
Interview
A message was sent to me through indeed to be at the Niceville, FL location at the time specified. I showed up, and employees were wearing masks, socially distanced interview was only 2 feet apart at a table.
I was told I had a stand out resume. Although, when I referenced experience and knowledge of their software, she repeatedly said “oh, I didn’t know that about you.” Clearly her initial compliment was a lie. (Great start). Toward the end of the interview she asked me about pay expectations. When I gave her a number and reason of education and prior experience with the company. She then proceeds to tell me that my 3.5 years of “regular” customer service and experience as a front office coordinator for a vacation rental agency is nothing like “hospitality” customer service, having already worked for Holiday Inn Express previously, and my education (a bachelors in business administration with minors in marketing and hospitality) wasn’t relevant. $11/hr is the best she could do.
