      Director Level Interview

      Jan 1, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Oklahoma City, OK
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Homeland Stores (Oklahoma City, OK) in Sep 2020

      Interview

After several pre-screen phone interviews, flying into OKC during COVID-19, taking part in five in-person interviews (all done in one day), HAC ghosted me. I invested 3 PTO days plus prep, research, monies, etc. To be left hanging for weeks with no response from them after numerous follow-ups was frustrating and disappointing. So fast forward to today, I was browsing thru LinkedIn and I came across a LinkedIn post from HAC announcing that someone else got the position. Is this how companies communicate to candidates that they were rejected in today’s age? I am all for new processes and methodologies of communication, but getting this kind of news on LinkedIn is something I am not supportive of. I still prefer the email saying “Thank you so much for your interest in the position with HAC Inc. We appreciate your enthusiasm and interest in our company.  At this time, we have chosen to proceed with another candidate who has experience that better matches our needs for this specific position." Although the message is robotic, it doesn’t blindside you or punch in the gut.
